I chose the word HydroViews very deliberately.
Several years ago, I read a book called Future Seeing by Edmund Shaftsbury, and it changed the way I thought about a single word: viewpoint. Since that day, viewpoint, for me has become one of the most important words in the English language to me—because viewpoint, or viewpoints in the plural, may be one of the greatest demonstrations of free will we possess.
We have the choice and ability to fix or flex our viewpoints.
When viewpoints become fixed, logic, reason, and understanding are blocked. Reason no longer penetrates, and understanding comes to a standstill. The ego itself can be understood as an emotional attachment to a fixed viewpoint. The tighter we cling to it, the less we are able to see other viewpoints.
And then I started studying water.
I quickly realized that if I wanted to understand water—really understand it—I would have to flex my viewpoints. Water refused to fit neatly into the mental boxes I had been given. Every time I loosened my assumptions, a new vista opened. New questions emerged. New connections appeared.
That was over 17 years ago after I first saw images of Masaru Emoto’s water crystals and felt a calling to learn all I could about water. I had just finished my last chemo and radiation treatments from tongue and throat cancer, and knew water needed to be part of my recovery.
Thinking Like Water
If you’ve ever watched water solve a problem, you’ve already had a HydroView.
It doesn’t argue.

It doesn’t file a complaint with the universe.
Water simply notices the situation and responds—patiently, persistently, and with a quiet intelligence that would put many committee meetings to shame.

What Are HydroViews?

Water: The Overachiever of the Periodic Table
If water were a student, it would be the one raising its hand while breaking the rules.
Most substances behave roughly as expected.
Water… does not.
According to research summarized by scientists at IBM and others, water exhibits over seventy documented anomalies—ways in which it refuses to follow the tidy rules of classical physics and chemistry.
For example:
- Water expands when it freezes (most liquids shrink).
- Ice floats (which is why life on Earth still exists).
- Water has unusually high surface tension.
- It stores heat exceptionally well.
- It forms structured layers near hydrophilic surfaces.
- It behaves differently near living tissue than it does in a glass.
If water followed the rules like a well-behaved molecule, Earth would be a frozen rock with a very short biography.
Instead, water behaves as if it is deeply invested in life.
HydroViews doesn’t see this as spooky.
It sees it as significant.
One of the most intriguing modern discoveries about water is Exclusion Zone (EZ) water, sometimes poetically called crystalline water because of the fluid, crystal-like order it forms when it encounters a hydrophilic—water-loving—surface.
This is not ordinary liquid water.
It is a distinct phase.
EZ water forms naturally next to cell membranes, proteins, minerals, and even the boundary between water and air. In these intimate spaces, water reorganizes itself into layered, highly ordered structures—excluding impurities, separating charge, and storing energy.

- Forms layered, crystalline-like structures
EZ water doesn’t require belief.
It’s observable. Measurable. Repeatable.
What HydroViews finds most fascinating is how this order arises—not by command, but by relationship. When water encounters the right boundary and energy conditions, organization emerges naturally.

No motivational poster.
Just response.
Not Magic. Not Marketing. Just Behavior.
HydroViews is careful here.
Water is not conscious.
It does not think.
It does not decide to “be wise” on Tuesdays.
Water responds—faithfully, predictably, and consistently—to energy, surfaces, and boundaries.
And yet, when you zoom out, its behavior looks uncannily similar to wisdom:
- It adapts rather than resists.
- It stores experience (heat, charge, structure).
- It flows around obstacles instead of exhausting itself fighting them.
- It connects everything it touches.
HydroViews does not say water is wisdom.
It says water models wisdom.
There’s a difference—and it matters.

Here is where HydroViews gently wades into deeper water.
Science is excellent at explaining how things happen.
Spiritual traditions often explore why meaning exists at all.
HydroViews doesn’t force these conversations to merge. It lets them overlap—like currents meeting in an estuary.
For its spiritual lens, HydroViews draws inspiration from The Urantia Book, which presents a cosmology where:
- Creation is orderly, purposeful, and progressive
- Mind and matter interact through lawful processes
- Spirit does not violate nature, but works through it
- Growth is experiential, not imposed
Within this framework, water becomes more than chemistry. It becomes a medium—not mystical, but meaningful. A physical system capable of participating in life’s unfolding without breaking a single law of physics.
HydroViews treats this not as proof—but as viewpoints expanded.
Why Metaphor Matters (And Why Water Is So Good at It)
Humans learn through metaphor long before equations.
We say:
- “Go with the flow”
- “Still waters run deep”
- “Test the waters”
- “Drowning in information”
- “Let things settle”
These phrases didn’t appear by accident. They emerged because water mirrors inner experience better than almost anything else in nature.
HydroViews uses metaphor not to replace evidence, but to translate it. A metaphor is not a claim. It’s a bridge.
And water, being water, makes an excellent bridge.
HydroViews Is Not a Religion
